Mass Excavation, Backfill & Final Grading
The race begins when school is out for summer break! This project includes excavation of approximately 9,000 CY, open cut on 3 sides and shored with a temporary ecology block wall on the remaining side due to the proximity to the street. Phase II will require backfill and compaction and final grading and aggregates for asphalt and concrete paving.

The dust has settled, the construction of the 9 month AAA Ballpark has wrapped up and is open for business. Phase 2A of this project includes an entertainment district that will feature three restaurants- one encompassing the historic freight house-, three nightclubs and an outdoor events plaza in front of the stadium. Staying consistent with the prior Ballpark project, this project will be on a fast track schedule. Sitework will include demolition, excavation, backfill, utilities, aggregates and asphalt paving.
Howard Hanson Dam Flood Mitigation
As a precautionary measure, Boeing has elected to protect its key facilities located in the high risk flood plain area of the Kent—Renton valley. The HESCO sand barriers have been installed along the perimeters of both facilities (by Gary Merlino Co.). The final piece of the puzzle it to install gate and plug valves on all storm drainage and sewer outlets so as to control storm water backflow into the facilities in the event of a flood. The project is on a fast track with 4 crews slated to complete all work scopes by the first week of December.
Foundation Ex/Backfill & Onsite Utilities
Located in the heart of downtown Reno, utilities include the installation of storm, sewer and water systems consisting of 5K/LF of mainline with deep (20’ +) connections on busy city streets. A collection (5ea) of underground grease interceptors comprising of 34k gallons of storage will also be supplied and installed. Other trenching includes approximately 10K/LF of electrical and mechanical systems. Structural excavation, screening and backfill consist of complex precision digging of approximately 20K/CY. Grading and placement of site aggregates within the ballpark consist of over 175K/SF of area as well as right of way improvements with frontage of 800LF. Learn more about the ballpark here. View the timelapse here.
The Knuckle
Mass excavation of 9K/CY previously left in place to retain an adjacent building during construction. Project constraints include working under a 9’ to 20’ brace frame ceiling while the excavation moves to a depth of 5 levels underground. All earth to moved with mini machines and hoisted by way of crane into awaiting dump trucks. Project schedule is 35 working days.
Contracts A, B & C
Project includes installation of 18,700 LF of water main including domestic services and fire hydrants. Trenching in the Sierra Nevada’s includes rock excavation and a fast track, high production schedule so as to complete the project before the onset of winter. View a video of the project here.
Terminal 46 Infrastructure Upgrades
Two year sitework project, 24 HR/DY active terminal, including multiple buildings demolition, contaminated materials handling and over four miles of electrical ductbanks.
Waterline Replacement
Official "Ghost Town" 200 miles from Reno in the NV Desert. Project consisted of 8 miles of watermain, 80 fire hydrants and processing of all excavated material for backfill in a short schedule of four months. View a map of kingston here.

Complete Sitework Package
Brought down from Seattle by Sellen Construction for a three year project including multiple acres of sitework and roadwork reconstruction. Visit our time lapse.
Plant Upgrades
Project included all WA locations, multiple projects (20+) over 20 years, foundation and utility upgrades primarily inside active buildings. PRC is trusted and depended on by Boeing construction managers for experience and design build solutions.
Mass Excavation
Mass excavation and hauling, 40' depth with lower floors below water table, complex shoring including soil nailing and timber lagging with brace frames to avoid crossing property lines.
Sitework
Other scopes of work include building separation and demolition, clearing and grubbing, rockery and modular block walls, flume bank stabilization and debris removal and geo-grid installation.
Foundation & Utility Ex/Backfill
Located adjacent to the Renton Municipal Airport, the project consists of extensive foundation and utility upgrades to an existing hangar building. Soil freezing will be utilized as the means of shoring as the excavation will extend well below the water table. The "freeze" takes approximately 8 weeks with the intent of creating a "bathtub" effect, excluding the water from the limits of excavation so construction is not adversely affected.
